About Me
Growing up my main sport and passion was soccer, but after spending time in Montana and Colorado while I was in college, I was pretty much hooked on anything that involved mountains. My adventures with traditional style backpacking soon turned into fast and light trips, which eventually led me to ultra running: the best way to see a lot of mountain terrain in a short amount of time.
More recently I identify as a mountain runner, adventurer, family man, buckaroo. I’m proud to call the wild west of Lander, Wyoming home where I enjoy the privilege of running, climbing, and skiing in some of North America’s most remote mountains. My specialty is racing in the most rugged, steep, and competitive mountain ultra marathons. I thrive on pushing the boundaries of what is possible in training and adventure, and I also find joy in inspiring others to reach their own summits, celebrate our precious wild spaces, and protect our fragile climate. When I’m not running through the mountains, I’m on the move with my wife and two young daughters, or you can find me coaching at Trails and Tarmac and and co-Race Directing the Sinks Canyon and Run the Red Desert Trail Races
